Increased quality for our customers, ecological disposal as well as efficient recycling were the targets for the automatic pallet-sorting facility taken into service at the end of September in our Logistics Center 1 in Altishofen.
Today this facility allows is to fully automatically process around 300 pallets per hour. Each individual pallet is scanned on several points, measured, tested on load-bearing capacity, finally sorted out and stacked into one of 4 quality ranges. Criteria for classification are the level of light- / darkness of coloration, integrity / dimensional correctness / strength of the pallets and their components, as
well of course the presence of loose or damaged parts.
Our first experience shows that, thanks to the new tool, the handling of pallets has become more efficient, smoother, more constant, more reliable and above all also more friendly to the environment.
