Lucerne Logistics Center: Fully automated high-bay and small parts warehouse
The Lucerne logistics center was officially opened in September 2025. Following completion in two construction phases, the site offers around 60 jobs and a total of 30,000 square meters of usable space.
One of the new building's distinguishing features is its vertical layout over three floors, which enables a high level of space efficiency. A fully automated small parts warehouse with a capacity of 130,000 containers was built in a space-saving manner above a fully automated high-bay warehouse with 6,500 pallet spaces. State-of-the-art shuttle technologies and a fully integrated warehouse management and material flow system control all intralogistics processes precisely and efficiently across all levels. In addition, the logistics center has large storage areas with conveyor and racking technology for oversized industrial goods, as well as a specially designed and equipped warehouse for hazardous materials in various storage classes.
Another special feature is the sustainability of the building: the electricity requirement is covered entirely by a 1,000 kWp photovoltaic system, while heating and cooling are provided by a groundwater heat pump in combination with a TABS or free cooling system. The Lucerne logistics center thus makes an active contribution to sustainable logistics.
On this technological and sustainable basis, the location enables fully integrated warehouse logistics, ranging from secure storage and order picking to just-in-time delivery to production companies in the region. It is specifically designed to meet the requirements of Industry 4.0 and offers a high degree of flexibility for a wide range of customer needs thanks to modular storage concepts and secure hazardous materials storage.
