Get hands-on and discover new talents
Listening, asking questions and, above all, trying things out were on the agenda throughout the entire area. The young talents immersed themselves directly in everyday working life and lent a hand at the interactive stations. Whether they were carrying out mechanical repairs with diagnostic equipment in the Technical Academy, designing their own personal drinking bottle in the CarroLack Academy or wiring a network in the IT Academy - 77 dedicated apprentices and 31 trainers were on hand to support them, answer questions and pass on their own enthusiasm for the profession.
The undisputed highlight was waiting on a closed-off practice area: get in, grab the steering wheel and step on the gas yourself. Under the safe guidance of professional driving instructors, the young people maneuvered real trucks and cars over the asphalt. The Riwax Formula 1 simulator, on which the youngsters were able to put their driving skills to the test digitally, provided even more of a racing feeling.
Meeting place Trucker Lounge
The in-house "Trucker Lounge" provided refreshments and a relaxing break in between. Guests were able to enjoy drinks, tasty sausages and a refreshing ice cream in a great atmosphere in the restaurant. This cozy setting provided the ideal opportunity to reflect on the many impressions and to continue exchanging ideas in an informal setting.
Working together to promote young talent
The Junior Day attracted a total of 460 visitors to Altishofen. Parents and accompanying persons also took the opportunity to find out about the wide range of opportunities in the transport and logistics sector. The great interest in the event confirms the course we have taken in training young people. Events like Junior Day are an important building block in proactively counteracting the shortage of skilled workers and inspiring the next generation for the world of transport and logistics.
We would like to thank all visitors and the dedicated employees and apprentices who made this day a complete success with their commitment. We are already looking forward to welcoming some of the young guests as apprentices in the near future.
