Successful Swissmedic basic inspection confirms Galliker healthcare expertise

On January 22, 2026, the periodic basic inspection was successfully carried out at the Altishofen site by the Regional Therapeutic Products Institute (RHI) on behalf of Swissmedic. The aim of the inspection was to review the regulatory requirements and to ensure and maintain our operating licenses in the healthcare sector.

As part of the inspection, our processes, infrastructures, documentation, IT systems and logistics procedures were checked for compliance with the regulatory requirements of healthcare logistics - including in particular the strict requirements of Good Distribution Practice (GDP), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and the legal provisions on the handling of narcotics. in addition, technical discussions were held with responsible persons to ensure that sensitive healthcare products are handled safely, transparently and traceably along the entire supply chain.

The successful inspection confirms the stability of our processes, our continuous commitment to quality, safety and reliability and underlines our role as a reliable partner in healthcare logistics. At the same time, it confirms our consistent and fully documented working methods.

The final feedback from the inspector was extremely positive and confirmed the high level of trust in our processes and standards. A big thank you goes to our dedicated employees, whose commitment and expertise make such approvals possible in the first place.

Opening ceremony of the Galliker Logistics Center 2 in S. Antonino

The official opening of the new Logistics Center 2 at the Ticino site in S. Antonino took place on 13 May 2026. The invited guests - including Fabio Regazzi, Member of the Council of States of the Canton of Ticino - were given the opportunity to get to know the modern and sustainable building and the associated logistics processes and services. Exactly 15 years after the first logistics center went into operation, Galliker is expanding its capacity in southern Switzerland by around 13,279 m² in response to the continuously increasing demand for specialized logistics space along the strategically important north-south axis.
