During a guided tour of the grounds and buildings, guests were shown and briefed on the range of services offered by Galliker Portugal. They were particularly impressed by the Volvo E-Truck in “ Galliker ” colors—the first electric truck in Portugal.

Afterward, the visitors were able to gain a realistic picture of the entire company through the “ Galliker Inside” film and a presentation on its history, organization, and strategic direction. They were very impressed by the broad scope of the company’s activities in transportation and logistics, as well as its forward-looking approach. Galliker ’s forward-thinking initiatives in the areas of sustainability and green logistics were particularly well-received.

The Driver Academy by Galliker, which has been training young Portuguese professionals to become professional drivers with German language skills in nearby Famalicão since 2022, generated great interest. Since its founding, around 100 capable drivers have already come to Switzerland as valuable reinforcements.

The discussion with the visiting group then focused on the potential and opportunities for cross-border collaboration between Galliker and international corporations, as well as the Portuguese business community. Thanks to the valuable network of the Swiss Embassy and the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, fruitful contacts for sustainable partnerships can be established in the future.

Armed with many new insights and a history of the family-owned company Galliker, the visitors took their leave. They then drove off into the incomparable Portuguese sunset.
