Aid transports for Ukraine

Since 5 March, Galliker trucks have repeatedly set off for the Ukrainian border with aid transports. A Galliker internal task force is coordinating requests and trips related to the crisis.

Galliker Transport AG is currently receiving many requests for aid transports to Ukraine. There is a demand for journeys to the border region and to the west of Ukraine. On the one hand, the goods are intended for refugees who are in Poland, Hungary or Slovakia in the border region with Ukraine. On the other hand, they are to help the population who are holding out in the country. The items donated and collected are mainly clothes, blankets, mattresses, toys, prams or cots and hygiene articles.

Trucks from Galliker travel all the way to the Ukrainian border. If the goods are destined for onward transport to the war-ravaged country, they are reloaded. Galliker carries out journeys in connection with relief supplies for Ukraine at its own expense.

The first aid transport was for the private collection campaign "Nidwalden hilft Ukraine". On 5 March, the donated goods were loaded at Buochs airfield, and three days later they were in Tarnow, Poland. Here it will be distributed to Ukrainians who have fled. The second aid transport set off on 9 March. Beforehand, it was loaded with donated goods at the Ukrainian Embassy in Bern. Another trip is on behalf of the CHUV (Centre hospitalier universitaire vaudois), which donates medicines to hospitals in Ukraine. Galliker is also on the road for "Ukraine-Hilfe Graubünden", and we also take food to the crisis area on behalf of customers.
