Galliker expands international branch network with new location in Portugal
On July 5, 2022, Galliker announces the official acquisition of Velltrans, Lda. in Perafita (Porto). The Portuguese transport company operates in the field of Cargo and Automotive Parts Logistics and has been known for many years for reliable services and quality in freight transport between the countries Portugal, Spain, Benelux.
This move to the Iberian peninsula creates new synergies for the Galliker Group in its international business. Nationally, within Portugal, Velltrans operates its own distribution network for goods and spare parts. In addition to its headquarters in Perafita (Porto), the new Galliker subsidiary's branch network includes four other platforms, three in Portugal and one in Madrid, Spain. Velltrans employs 62 people and its fleet includes 44 commercial vehicles. At the same time, Galliker has acquired a truck driving school in Braga, north of Porto. The training center for truck drivers is intended to prevent the increasing shortage in the market of good drivers and to prepare junior staff for later employment in the Galliker Group.
