Intelligent Logistics – Good ideas and innovative processes
On Tuesday, 20th June 2017 the GS1 Switzerland – professional association for sustainable network of value added – visited the Galliker competence center for Food and Healtcare Logistics.
Over 50 participants visited this year‘s study trip from GS1 Switzerland - an attractive learning and network platform. During the two days, they visited different enterprises on the subject “logistics ideas”. After the visit of R. Nussbaumer AB and the impressive expansion project at Galexis AB, the day was rounded off with a visit to our fully automatic ambient and frozen high storage for food and healthcare products.
Peter Galliker, CEO Galliker Transport AG welcomed the visitors. The visit was then led by our logistics manager Martin Hofer and his team. After a short presentation of the company, the participants were able to discover the premises of the new competence center.
The modern logistics center is specially equipped for storing and preparing orders for food and pharmaceutical products. The two automatic high racks are the heart of the competence center comprising more than 19'000 m2. After completion of the building scheduled for August 2017, the building will be equipped with 13 fully automatic stackers, four in the below zero zone and nine in temperature zones between + 12 ° C and + 18 ° C.
