President of the Federal Council Guy Parmelin visits Galliker in Altishofen
Federal Councillor and Head of the Federal Departments of Economic Affairs, Guy Parmelin visited the Galliker company on Friday, 13 August 2021. President Guy Parmelin said that after a long period of limited opportunities as a result of the pandemic, he felt the need to maintain the contact with the business community.
When Galliker was asked about the impact of the pandemic on the transport and logistics sector, the response to Guy Parmelin was that there were sectors that had to accept a greater loss of order volume, such as international general cargo transport or car logistics transports, which is still suffering as a result of the semiconductor crisis worldwide. But there were also divisions that were able to increase their order volume during the lockdown measures, such as Food and Healthcare Logistics.
On his tour at Galliker in Altishofen, Guy Parmelin gained an impression of the wide range of transport and logistics services that Galliker offers its customers. He was particularly impressed by the Galliker transport company's efforts in the area of sustainability, which are being translated into concrete action within the framework of Galliker Green Logistics. As head of the Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research, he also praised the Galliker Campus' great commitment to training.
Finally, the President of the Swiss Council was given the chronicle "100 Years of the Galliker Family Business" as a small gift.
